Tis’ the season for dry skin! Cold, dry air sucks the moisture right out of your skin. But hyaluronic acid can replenish it in no time. If you desire plumper, softer, smoother skin with less fine lines, hyaluronic acid is the way to go.

 The 4-1-1 on Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a complex sugar that provides hydration and plumpness. Normally found in between the collagen bundles in the skin, HA acts as a cushion to promote collagen and elastin. The molecule holds a thousand times its weight in water. Many of our products feature sodium hyaluronate, the water-soluble salt form of hyaluronic acid.

Apply Your Hyaluronic Acid On Damp Skin.

HA can be used as a humectant in your skincare regimen because of its ability to draw and hold water. HA not only retains moisture in our skin, but also prevents all that moisture from evaporating into the air. The ingredient needs to be used in conjunction with other moisturizers. hyaluronic acid alone will not provide the necessary hydration skin needs. When applied alone to damp skin it only acts as a temporary hydrator. Make sure to apply a water-based moisturizer on top of it. When used together, a moisturizer will keep the additional hydration from the hyaluronic acid from  escaping and hold it for much longer.

Your diet significantly affects your skin

just like collagen and elastin, the amount of naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid in our bodies decreases as we get older. However there are natural ways to help stimulate production of HA in our bodies. Eating fruits and veggies with lots of antioxidants protect the skin from inflammation in turn helps the skin retain it. This ingredient should be in every anti-aging skin care routine. Hyaluronic acid works well with MOST other ingredients commonly found in skin care products. It can be paired with chemical peels, retinols, vitamins, and other acids. Do not pair with glycolic acid, because it may degrade the HA and make it ineffective.

Now The Hard Part

Picking the right hyaluronic acid product for your skin can be tricky. Most formulas use a molecule that is too large to effectively absorb into the skin.  Our Hyaluronic Concentrate uses 22% micronized particles to deliver hydration to the deeper layers of skin. Otherwise you are just putting HA on top of your skin without it being truly helpful. After continued use, skin will look more dewy, younger all while improving skin elasticity. Since HA it is a naturally occurring molecule, it is safe for all skin types, allergic reactions to HA are very rare. It’s also safe to use on skin all over the body.
